Mane Thing

My hair used to be so dry and frizzy. That was until I got hold of Avon Naturals Hair Care Complete Recovery Mask. I use it thrice a week and it made my hair softer and more voluminous. It sure is worth it for a Php 99 deal.

Home Alone

So, it finally happened. Mom flew out of the country yesterday and we're now home alone.

It's one of those rare moments where my siblings and I have to stand on our own and make things work. Being a Filipino, we are so used to being clannish that only when one gets married, that's the only time he or she gets to leave the house. Now you got an idea on how much  adjustment we are going to go through because we are such a close-knit family.

Though the idea of being home alone with just my siblings is quite tough, funny thing is we are all handling the situation like grown ups. First night of being alone is all about creating a new dynamics at home. Yes, we did some "reorganization" so that it is clear with everyone who does what and what responsibilities are expected from each other.

I honestly think this is going to be one tough adventure for the three of us... but it surely is going to be an exciting and adventurous one!

Hair Story

We often hear that our hair is our crowning glory. It is supposedly one of the impressive features of a person. That's why most ladies take good care of their hair. And to be able to do that, one must find a good hairdresser.

For the longest time, only a few handled my hair. There's Mr. H, then Jen, then I started to rarely go to the salon because my hairdressers became out-of-reach.

Yesterday, as Stephen and I spent some quality time together, we found ourselves at Market Market at the Bonifacio Global City. Out of nowhere, we just decided to go and get a cut from David's Salon. It's just one of those impulsive things that you do together for fun.

Given that it was a Sunday, it was expected at that the line for haircut was long and sure thing, it was. We were number 4 in the queue. We decided to ditch it but somewhere along the way, we changed our minds and decided to push through with it.

I was treated to the usual shampoo and conditioner by this petite, accommodating girl named Nina. She carefully washed my then-long locks and while waiting for my Senior Stylist, Nina gave me a good back massage and offered an updated 2014 magazine to read.

After which, Joan, the Senior Stylist came over and actually asked what I wanted. I really like stylists who care about what style I like. She listened carefully and intently. After I explained my idea, she told me the advantages and disadvantages of the style which I liked. She even gave me options. I really enjoyed the interaction.

A few minutes later, I came out of the salon with a new do which I felt confidently in.

If you are looking for a stylist who will actually listen to your hair woes or issues, I suggest that you check out,  David's Salon at Market Market, Bonifacio Global City.

Look for their Senior Stylist, Miss Joan. You will not regret it.

Spa Adventure: Hidden Spa

Spa-holic. Yes, that's me. When I'm tired, I often head to the spa to gratify my workaholic side. Given that I get to try out different spas, I'm posting this to share my experiences and adventures so somehow others could gain a thing or two from me. So here goes my Spa Adventure 001 with Mitch.

HIDDEN SPA

Location

Hidden Spa is located along Alabang-Zapote Road right across Southmall. It is very accessible but their front door was not quite easy to find. Mitch and I had to ask the building guard just to ask where their front door is. The entrance looked bare since it got no signages pointing to where you should go to reach the spa. Anyway, the trick is just go to PNB Southmall branch and to the right of their ATM is a door. Just enter and climb the stairs and it'll lead you to the spa.

Ambience

It looked like the usual spa with dimmed lights except that when we got there, the aircon at their receiving area was turned off. I admit it was a quite turn off because it felt like entering a sauna.

Price

It was relatively cheap since the massage costs around Php 289 / hour.

Spa Experience

We were asked for our choice of masseuse - male or female. Being quite conservative ladies, we got quite creeped out because we can't imagine a random guy giving us a massage.

Then, they didn't have the usual massage bed. The beds lay flat on the floor with no hole for your head so your head is a bit strained the whole one hour of the massage.

The masseuse used their thumbs in the massage. Most use their palm, here they used their thumb so it is a bit painful because it felt like someone is poking you. My friend and I had to inform our masseuse to lighten their strokes because it was painful.

The whole body massage was just okay. It was neither horrible nor exceptional. My friend and I agreed though that the head massage was great.

After which, we decided to use the ladies room. Well, I decided to skip the idea of using it and use my bathroom at home instead.

Recommendation

I will give Hidden Spa a score of two out of five. I still prefer enjoying the strokes using the palm instead of the thumb.

Other than that, their cashier didn't give us the exact change and used the excuse that they didn't have loose coins.

This spa may work for those who got no option but to avail of their services and maybe in dire need of some sort of relaxation. Sadly, Hidden Spa isn't just for me...

Refreshed

My best friend's Christmas gift - Crabtree & Evelyn Shower Gel
I got 2 girl best friends. Our friendship goes all the way back in college.( Yeah I know that's a long time ago... haha)

Every year, we try to meet up and have a mini reunion. Unlike in college where we used to see each other almost every day, now that we are all working, we rarely get to see each other. One works in Singapore while the other got a demanding job in Makati. I'm not exempted as well. My work requires me to have late night meetings, work on Saturdays, and travel every now and then. Thus, our mini reunion is something that we really look forward to. You could imagine how meeting up with these girls bring me so much joy. Normally, we give little tokens to each other every occasion.
Crabtree & Evelyn's Fruits & Botanicals Bath Gel Sampler

I am grateful to have received Crabtree & Evelyn's Fruits & Botanicals Bath Gel Sampler. (Okay disclaimer: This set was from Singapore but I already checked that these items are available individually here in the Philippines). I super loved it! It came in 4 different scents - Citron, Pomegranate, Tarocco Orange and Avocado. I, being a lover of bath gels, enjoyed using these so much. It made me feel fresh, clean, and yes, squeaky clean. No need to even spritz on your favorite cologne after shower. Crabtree & Evelyn's Bath Gel would make you smell that good.

Do I recommend this? Oh yes! I highly do so. Here in Manila, one may go through their FB page (https://www.facebook.com/CrabtreeAndEvelyn.ph?fref=tsto check out their latest offerings. Or if you're in for some road trip, you may head to Greenbelt, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, SM Megamall or Trinoma to check out their merchandise.

Take care of yourself now, girls! Head to your nearest Crabtree & Evelyn store right away.

Start of Something New

There are so many things that is worth sharing. It's not everyday that you get to take picture or videos to document it. Emotions are quite difficult to document so I decided to put up a blog once again to share every little thing that happens in my life. I hope I'd be able to consistently post here.

Time to prep and get this blog rolling.
